Valeria Petrone began her art education in her native Italy and then moved to London, pursuing studies at London's St. Martin School of Art.
She worked in London as a freelance illustrator for several years.
Although still maintaining links with publishers in the U.K., she has extended the scope of her activity to include publishers in the United States, Japan, France, and of course Italy, where she now lives.
In addition to her work in children's books, she has done editorial illustration for Italian and UK magazines.
She was vice president of the Italian Association of Illustrators for several years. Her work has been exhibited in Italy and abroad and has been selected for the Annual of American Society of Illustrators and Original Art Show of NY. She is also a member of the Society of Illustrators of NY.
